Just to remind folks --- I like showing people how to do animation. I've taught almost 2,000 people how to draw animation, and how to use 2D and 3D animation Software. My brother and I started drawing when we were in diapers. Eventually that got us to where we could make some $$$ at it. I'm not saying it's easy. But it's a way to make a living, if you hustle. •••••••••••••

This Carousel cycle was rendered from the same 3D model as the Aerial view shown in another video here.

The model was rendered on "Zero-level" Black background in the proper perspective to fit into the scene provided by Scholastic, Inc. The "Zero-level Black" in many situations is a "Protected" or "designated" color value reserved for processes like compositing or superimposition. That may have been a legacy of Video broadcast production, because two decades ago, a number of 2D and 3D desktop programs had got to a level that allowed users to designate pretty much ANY RGB value as the "invisible" color for supers...

Oh, well. My point really was just that OFTEN, you can find some work-around, regardless of the limitations of any particular commercial program. Beyond that, I would suggest to anyone starting out to jump on every opportunity that comes along, because the things you learn in one employment very often will provide insight into problems and challenges in other jobs.

I only say this because that's how it has worked for me. My interest in astronomy helped me understand how to set up the lights and polarizing filters for my first animation camera stand. Working in construction several summers prepared me for doing the interior walls and electrical wiring for an audio studio. Working with Live Action Production Companies helped me refine my storyboarding skills, and gave me more experience in working out budgets, schedules, estimates, proposals and running audio recording sessions. Give me a minute and I could think of a dozen more... But with all that, I have to say I'm nobody special. I keep meeting people with plenty of skills from working a range of related jobs.

What I'm saying is that you can't know in advance all the experiences that will be valuable to you as your so-called career unfolds.

I know what you're thinking this far into this lecture: This guy loves to see his own writing as much as he likes to hear himself Talk.
