  • Serious comment: I have read descriptions of rock slides in valleys of the Swiss Alps, that had run completely ACROSS the Valley floor, and then close to one thousand feet UP the OPPOSITE SLOPE. The explanation given was that the advancing avalanche of gravel, rocks and even giant boulders, had captured a cushion of Compressed Air, which served as a lubricant for the huge mass of rock.   • @1:13:17 This image completely blows my mind! I just moved from Ohio to western NC two weeks ago and the landscapes of catastrophe are prevalent EVERYWHERE I look. On my drive to my new home i neglected the interstate highways (71/77) and took the river route thru state and county roads. It took me three days of seeing great geological evidence of flooding while passing by weeks worth of other sites. Cant wait to join you fine gentlemen on a tour of this area (foothills of the Blueridge). Randall you are a spark of inspiration that i am privileged to have been able to follow for almost 10 years now. Keep up the good work. Godspeed in all you're travels and cheers!
